How to add .lib file to a .dll project in Visual Studio 2005.
Hi Developers, I am creating a .dll project where i needs to include the .lib files, which are being generated from a different VS2005 solutions. Below are my queries. 1. Where to place those .lib files in .dll project ? 2. What are the linkers option setting i need to do for that in .dll project ? 3. Any code changes are required for adding those .lib like (#pragma etc.) in .dll project ? Thanks, Ananda.
understand the requirement thoroughly and ask questions like..what is the purpose of this dll ? what additional functionalities does this DLL require ? Where to place those .lib files in .dll project ? it would be in the Linker options (Project->Properties->Configuration Properties->Linker->Input and in "Additional Dependencies" , you should mention in ".lib" files ...if the .lib files reside in another directory .make sure you give the relative path to these directories. Any code changes are required for adding those .lib you can either use #pragma to import an ".lib" file or go for the step that i mentioned above, use any one option and stick to it through out the project.
