Importing a PowerPoint slide into an Excel 2007 worksheet
I'm baffled. In Excel 2003, we have a lovely .xla file which, amongst other things, loads a PowerPoint .ppt file (which contains one very basic slide, showing our logo and a couple of headings), changes the text in the headings, then Pastes this PowerPoint file into our Excel worksheet. This basically gives the first worksheet in our Excel file a nice "cover sheet" to it. Range("A1").Select 'Add OLEObject ActiveSheet.OLEObjects.Add(Filename:= "Some Powerpoint File.ppt", Link:=False, DisplayAsIcon :=False).Select In Excel 2007, I can't do this, even if I try to insert the PowerPoint manually. If I start from scratch, create a new Excel 2007 workbook, click on Insert \ Object \ Create From File and select either my Excel 2003 .ppt file, or my Excel 2007 .pptx file, then I get the error: Cannot insert object. The irony is that I had this error about a month ago... then it disappeared, and this Insert \ Object worked fine. And now it's back again, and I can't get past it. Can anyone suggest what I'm doing wrong (other than using Excel 2007, of course) ? Excel 2007 SP2 It's a bit of a mess (tm) http://www.ItsABitOfAMess.com
