I'm always switching between 2G and 4G to save my BATTERY life and access FAST INTERNET when necessary. In WP 8 its bit hard but in WP 8.1 its super hard. please make it possible that shortcuts in notification bar (Action Center) :)
take a look at Symbian Belle how its simplified in notification bar.
