Daylight Saving Time Issue

Hi guys,
We have a problem with Daylight saving here:
So, we have some devices in Sydney, Australia (Australian Eastern Standard Time). All of them were in daylight saving that one hour had been added to the time. Yesterday, the daylight saving was gone. This morning, we found out that the time on the devices
is still in daylight saving time and the UTC time of the OS is one hour ahead of it should be.
We have tried to reboot the system, but the time still got synced to the wrong UTC time.
Any ideas?
it seems like this is a general issue with Microsoft's timeserver
Is this IoT Core or IoT Enterprise? Is the Unified Write Filter (UWF) in the image and enabled?Sean Liming - Book Author: Starter Guide Windows 10 IoT Enterprise - /
Hi Sean,
It is IoT Core. The UWF is not enabled in the image.
We actually found a walk around to fix the problem: add some other NTP servers to the system. It seems to fix the issue. But we just wanted to know if there is anything wrong with the OS that we should fix in different ways.

Hi Andre,
Thanks for the reply! We thought that was the root of the issue.
Now we are using some additional NTP servers, such as
It seems to work all right now.
Just for the record, can you please clarify a couple of things:
- Which IoT-Core build are you using?
- What target are you using?
- What mechanism are you using to set date/time, region and NTP servers?

I just tested my IOT-Core system:
- Region: Australia SE UTC+10.
- Target: RPI3
- Build: 15063
I set the locality via Device Manager. No manual adjustment of time.
When I viewed the settings in the default app, the time was correct.
I rebooted and time was still correct.
I made no adjustments to its NTP Servers.

Thanks for the confirmation David!
Hi David,
The IoT Build we are using is 10.0.14393.0 and targeting at RPi.
Our devices are all using Window IoT Core Pro with auto OS update turned off.
To add extra NTP servers, we were using the following command:
w32tm /config /syncfromflags:manual /manualpeerlist:""
The problem appears when the Timezone set to AUS Eastern Standard Time (Sydney, Melbourne, etc.) during the changes of time due to day light saving.
Hi Ric,
Have you tried letting a device update to the latest update then running the test again? This would remove the possibility that you are researching something that may already been addressed.
Hi IoTGirl,
For some maintenance purpose, we decided to now upgrade the OS to the latest one unless there is a major release.
But I will download an IoT Core from the website, upgrade it to the latest version and see if the issue persists.
Will post the result here.
Version 1703 of IoT-Core is now available on MSDN for subscribers. 1703 is the new version of Windows, termed the Creators Edition due for public release on 11th April. I guess that the IoT-Core version you get through public channels will change to 1703
on or after that date, if not already done.Embedded MVP
Hi David,
Thanks for the information!
We are downloading the latest version from OEM now.
