Why Do Manual Updates NEED A WiFi Connection?
So we can get auto app updates now, which is great. And one of the options in auto updates is "Only get updates over Wi-Fi" which is also great. But today when I tried to manually initiate an update of a 2MB app, it just sat that waiting for WiFi. This isn't ideal of course, manually initiated updates should download immediately instead of waiting for WiFi. WP team should probably look into this.
True but if you have a plan that has no data and data would cost you a fortune, you'd probably appreciate the "Waiting for WiFi" if you tried a manual update without realizing you weren't connected to WiFi. I'm guessing that's not something they are going to change as if they did, you'd be happy but people in the example I just gave would be pretty upset. A good solution would be to add an addition option, something like this [X] Only get updates over Wi-Fi" [X] Unless I perform manually update
