Windows Workflow Foundation 3

January CTP - no Activities in the Toolbox

I've just installed Beta 2 of WWF that is included in the Jan CTP.  When I open a new Sequential Workflow Library project, in the designer view for my workflow, there are only 7 Activities: Compensate,FaultHandler,Suspend,Termainate,Throw,TransactionScope, and SysnchronizationScope.
Any ideas on what went wrong?  How to solve?
PS I installed in the order recommended by Jan CTP: winfx runtime, Winfx SDK, VS ext for Winfx, and VS Ext for WWF beta 2.

I found how to fix this, should anyone else run into the same issue.
Tools->Choose Toolbox Items -> Activities -> Reset
This added all the Activities we've com to know and love.

I face a similar problem. The toolbox seems to be incompletely filled, e.g. the Code activity is missing completely. I tried your suggestion with Reset Toolbox, but no change. This was a fresh install of the latests versions.
What makes me wonder, is an empty  Group "13119" in that toolbox. No idea what rought that one up.
Any ideas?

Hi Carsten,
One of the other things you can do for the activities to appear is
1. Go to the toolbox2. Right Click and "Choose Items..."3. Go to the Activities tab and select all the activities you would like to appear
I am not sure what makes the Group "13119" show up.
ThanksDevinder
Curious! Today it's a whole new world.  I installed the whole bunch yesterday, offline, only connected to my wireless network, reachin my domain via VPN on demand. Today, I'm back in my companies network, attached to the domain and... surprise... all activities up and running.
Ponder. But then, I don't think the connection was responsible. Maybe another reboot made the difference. I wonder how the system will react when I disconnect again. Will it come up with the old problems again? We'll see, next Sunday on this channel...

And the mysterious group "13119" persists. Should ask Fox mulder about it...

Hey,
I get that too - and I have the release version of VS 2005!
I can rename the Toolbox Tab, but on RESET, it reverts to the name #13119.
I have spent 45 minutes trying to figure this one out.
Waste of time?
Perhaps we need to ask Bill?
Oh yah - I cannot delete the Toolbox Tab either.

I haven't seen the 13119 situation yet, but I can tell you recompiling an activity library in the same project repeatably fails to add anything to the toolbox.  I have been using Choose Items and browsing for the assembly that contains my activities, which does faily well.  I have to manually delete activities that get renamed or deleted.  I cannot get it to add activities in the workflow project at all, even with this method.
This problem was resolved for me when I just removed all and reinstalled in this order (Jan CTP versions of all):
WinFX Runtime
SDK
VS.NET 2005 RTM
VS.NET extensions for WinFX
VS.NET extensions for WWF

I renamed #13119 to General tab But when I reset the tool bar it again goes to #13319
Anyone solve this mystery yet?Cause it still appears in VS2008
Just happened to me in VS2008SP1. I noticed I was missing some tabs, and a new tab appeared  #13119.

This seems to be the answer... and worked for me.

Basically, shut down VS, delete the 4 .tbd files from your personal config folder, and then restart VS.

VS will rebuild the files, and leave out the mystery #13119 tab.
It "works"...BUT I know am missing all of my AJAX  Controls as well as a couple other tabs of 3rd party controls I have used for the last 8 months withno problem.

I downloaded the new ASP.NET chart control which also required an instal of .NET 3.5 SP1.  I wonder if this is the root cause of all of this grief!
The solution works by removng ALL of the toolbox tabs (including the bad ones) and allowing VS to rebuild the defaults next time you start VS.

If you have additional tools/tabs, you will obviously need to re-install those non-standard tools into the toolbox.

Most 3rd party tools come with toolbox registration scripts or toolbox installers that you run to reinstall their tools into the toolbox, as losing tools is a common problem in VS.

Worst-case scenario, you re-install the tool package - normally just using a "repair" option.

thanks for the post..It solves my problem...This problem wasted my half day.
But now its working fine.
